economist said, ian sheped heardson said a big bucket of cold water. 18,000 jobs created overall. the estimates ranged from 80,000 to 125,000. market and economists expected more jobs creation than that. when you dig within the numbers you can see government jobs were shed. wow. thousands. 57,000 private sector jobs created but 39,000 government jobs lost. unemployment rate went up. so this tells you, kyra, bottom line, that private companies are not confident to hire in big numbers at all and the government, local and state government, because of budget cuts, continue to slash jobs. this is what the trajectory looks like. we have come from massive job losses there over about a year ago 192,000 four months of bad jobs and then you saw job created and it petered out. another thing when we dig into the numbers. you look at the revisions and what prior months were changed either higher or lower and we found another 44,000 jobs we thought had been created weren't. so it was other months revised down about 44,000. manufacturing, construction, temporary services and jobs in these areas

other big stories we've got going on today, one of them being casey anthony will walk out of jail a free woman in six days. now, you hear that, and think back to 48 hours ago. it was at this time tuesday that casey anthony was facing the possibility of life in prison, maybe even facing the death penalty. what a difference 48 hours makes, because today she is counting the days until she walks out of the jail a free woman. she is counting down to six. you know by now, casey anthony was acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter caylee, but convicted on four counts of lying to investigators. just before sentencing, the deceives tried and failed to reduce down to one. here are the four counts. lying about working at university studios, liking about caylee being with a nanny, the fick tick zanny you heard solve about. and lying about speaking to caylee on the phone. this morning, the judge melvin perry gave her the maximum to each of those counts. >> i will sentence you to one year in the orange county jail, xwokting a $1,000 fine on each count all four counts to run consecutive to each o

a big deal. so what is a big deal? white house officials tell me anything over $2 trillion, but he is pushing for more in the area of cuts that would equal $4 trillion over the next 10 to 12 years. now, this all comes against the backdrop of a report today in the "washington post" saying thatm president obama is putting social security on the table along with medicare and medicaid and when we asked the white house about this, they said, look, this is not news. the president has always supported the idea of small cuts in those entitlement programs to make them more effective as long as the cuts didn't impact beneficiaries and having said that some folks on the hill say there are some scenarios which would see a major overhaul of the entitlement programs, but the white house says they would not want to see anything to overhaul the main programs. but one of the sticking points here, thomas, is taxes. democrats want to see a rollback in tax credits for the wealthy americans and in big corporations, and the republicans have said no way, we don't support anything that looks like a tax in

. where is casey anthony at this hour? that is the big question that people want the answer to. the lawyers were successful disguising where she went in the overnight hours. even the press not able to keep up with her. cameras shooting this video of casey anthony walking out of the front doors of the orange county jail at 12:11. wearing pink me low shirt, hair in a bun and the primary defense attorney jose baez right by her side. they got in a motorcade, a gray suburban, a cream colored tahoe and white follow-car and drove directly from the location to a bank of of america building in downtown orlando, not far from here, where her other attorney has an office. they went in covered parking garage and pulled a bait and switch. the suv never emerged from the parking garage, but others cars did and it's not clear which one that casey anthony was in. we can tell you around the same time there was police activity across town at a private airport. a private plane was fuelled up and ready to go on the runway, but nobody saw casey anthony boarding the aircraft. officials telling us it w

to the men and women watching us on the armed forces network. a big thank you to you as well. >>> we're just hours before tonight's debt reduction talks at the white house. live pictures there this morning. the ambitious hopes for a large-scale deal have been dashed. the apparent sticking point? taxes, here is how house speaker, john boehner, sees it as democrat and republican leader prepare for tonight's showdown. quote, despite good-faith efforts to find common ground, the white house will not pursue debt reductions without tax hikes. i believe the best approach may be to focus on producing smaller cuts, that still meets our call for spending reforms and cuts greater than the amount of the debt limit increase. the white house talking about expectations at those talks. here's what spokesman dan fiver had to say about it. he said we cannot ask the middle class and seniors to bear all the burden of higher costs and budget cuts. we need a balanced approach, he says that asks the very wealthiest and special interests to pay their fair share as well and we believe the american people agree. cnn

election and we don't know who the republican candidate will be but already we have one big group that is throwing its support behind president obama. jim acosta is on that for us out of washington this morning. hey, jim. >> reporter: good morning, kyra. this is not a big surprise. we went a lot of time talking about the republican race for 2012. on the democratic side the president picked up an important endorsement yesterday from the national education association. this is the teachers union as everybody knows. and the vice president gave a pretty important speech yesterday to this union and so, today, the teachers union is throwing its support behind the president. not unexpected, as i mentioned. we got a quote from the president of the nea, dennis van roekel. what is somewhat surprising about all of this is that the nea would come out with this endorsement this soon. the president has sort of occasionally and his administration has occasionally shown tough love toward the teachers around the country and the nea has come out strongly behind the president he saying they are conc
